How Choosing to Surrender Can Empower You and Change Your Life
Tuesday Mar 02, 2021
Tuesday Mar 02, 2021
Happy March! Happy Women's History Month! I can't believe the first two months of 2021 are already behind us. This month on the podcast is all about empowering women and specifically empowering moms.
Have you ever felt like the load you are carrying is too much? Are you struggle to let of the past or of "what you should be doing" so you can find your authentic self? As humans, we truly become empowered when we learn who we are and step into our authentic self unapologetically. In order to unapologetically be ourselves, we have to be empowered and feel confident enough to so yet.
However, before we can get to a place of empowered living, we have to learn to let go of some things. Other people's opinions, thoughts, what people say we should be, just to name a few. We have to let go of those things if we want to make it to our next level.
From this episode:
- the importance of knowing who you are
- the reason you should step outside the box
- the power of surrender
- the steps you must take to transform your life
- how to surrender and be empowered
Take a listen to find out how choosing to surrender can not only empower your life but transform it as well.

How to Keep Yourself Going When Motherhood Makes You Want to Quit
Tuesday Feb 23, 2021
Tuesday Feb 23, 2021
I recently read a quote that said "Don't compare yourself to other mothers, we are all losing out sh*t, some just hide it better than others". Matter of fact I posted this quote on my Instagram not too long ago.
Well, let me tell you, these past 24-48 hours I have really felt like I was losing my sh*t. Life was coming at me fast and it was one thing after another. However this time, I decided to stop hiding, stop covering it up and own the mess.
I said words I've never said before "I quit". Time out for pretending and trying to figure it out, I just couldn't do it so I quit.
Listen to hear my story and my best advice for what to do when you feel like you are losing your sh*t.

Strategies for Survival When You Reach Your Breaking Point as a Mom
Wednesday Feb 10, 2021
Wednesday Feb 10, 2021
The cry heard all around the country. Juggling work, children, and other responsibilities amid a global pandemic are pushing moms to their breaking point. Moms around the country are facing ever-growing challenges in trying to maintain their own personal sanity while caring for their family, working, and conquering an endless list of to-dos.
However, what do you do when it all becomes too much? You reach your breaking point, your tipping point, and are just plain burnt out. You may be feeling like a bad mom because you are short-tempered, losing your sh*t, and just can't hold it together. Well, guess what? You are not alone. One thing is certain, this pandemic has exposed the bias that exists in the workforce towards mothers. Now moms around the world are crying, yelling, and screaming out for someone to understand.
The New York Times recently published an article featuring their "Primal Scream Line", a line that lets moms call in and vent, cry, yell or scream for up to one minute. How genius is that?
In this episode, I share:
- The crisis American moms are facing during this pandemic
- How the stress and uncertainty is impacting moms
- The Primal Scream line and other coping strategies for moms
- Tips to uplift and empower moms to get up each day and keep going
- How moms can support each other during this time

How to Be Resilient When You Are Struggling Through Hard Times
Tuesday Feb 02, 2021
Tuesday Feb 02, 2021
I'm not going to lie, I have been struggling lately. This pandemic life is getting real and starting to take its toll on me. At a time when we looked forward to some reprieve from this state that we have been in for the past year, we are now seeing new variants of Covid emerge and spread. Afterwhile, this is enough to take its toll on even the most positive person.
However, I am reminded that even in my struggles, there is a bright side. There is light at the end of the tunnel and many times a ray of sunshine peeking through to give some hope. It is hard for us to see in while we are in it, but this is not the end all be all. We will come out of this and resume some type of new normal.
In this episode, I share:
- The importance of accountability, support, and community
- Why your inner critic is often your worst enemy
- The necessity of centering yourself and seeking God before you take action
- How perspective is key and can change everything
Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV)

How to Manage the Mental Load of Motherhood During the Pandemic
Tuesday Jan 26, 2021
Tuesday Jan 26, 2021
Going, going, going, and then suddenly the world stopped, literally! In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic changed life as we know it forever. One year later, we are still in the midst of the pandemic praying every day that things will get better. We went from daily routines and outings to everyone being at home together trying to remotely work, attend virtual school and manage life the best we can.
I bet you have said to yourself at one time or another: "This is too much", "I can't do this anymore", "I feel like I'm losing my mind" or "There has to be more to life than this." I get it, this is an unfamiliar time. Add to that the pressures that already come with being a mother and caring for your family, life is pretty hectic right now.
While you may be settling into a rhythm after all this time, moms are still being significantly impacted by this pandemic. From having to work/run a business and be a homeschool teacher, master chef, etc to losing jobs, child care struggles, and or being forced to choose between work and their family, the mental distress mothers are experiencing is at an all-time high.
After almost a year of lockdowns, social distancing, and mask-wearing, it is so easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious and frustrated. You may even experience emotions that you can’t even assign any words. That is perfectly okay.
We are living in a state of collective trauma that is disproportionality affecting women, especially working mothers. Yes, Covid-19 is trauma and we are all living it and getting through this the best way we can. Although this is a difficult time and you don’t know what will happen from one day to the next, there are certain things you can do to better manage life during this time.
In this episode, I share:
- What is collective trauma
- How it presents itself in your daily life
- The struggle with collective trauma
- 3 tips to help navigate this trauma
I know it feels like this will never end, but this too shall pass. One day this pandemic will be a part of history, but for now, do your best to hang in there and get through it.

How Unresolved Trauma Can Impact You as a Mom & Business Owner
Tuesday Jan 19, 2021
Tuesday Jan 19, 2021
It's my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION and I'm back with Season 4!
Celebrate with me today! I can't believe it's been a year already. This past year has truly been an amazing journey and I am so honored to have each of you with me on this journey. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would have a podcast or a platform where I share my voice week after week. From the girl who was so shy that I used to cry when my mom made me order food in a restaurant to a woman business owner whose voice is now heard by people all over the world. I tell you God is amazing.
There is no limit on what you can do when you put God first. This is all God's doing! If I had it my way, I would still be behind the computer pushing out books and writing content but God had other plans for me.
Each day I step out on faith, do the work and trust God to work out the details. Blind faith is a freedom like no other. Yes, it can be scary but with God, you have no reason to fear.
What would you do if you knew you wouldn't fail? That is how you have to approach each and every day, if not you will get stuck in perfection, stuck in the planning phase, and never advance on your dreams and goals.
In this episode, I share:
- My experience after one year of podcasting
- The evolution of Triumph After Trauma
- What is trauma and what it means to be trauma-informed
- The lasting impact of unresolved trauma
- Why you need to do the work and heal no matter how hard it is
I am so excited to be back with you for another season of the More Than A Mother podcast. Share this episode and invite all of your mom friends to join in the experience. I can't wait to continue this journey with you all.
